Ours is a BCC Group comprising different main ventures including 3 Limited Companies and 1 Proprietorship Concern viz. (I) Bhatia International Ltd. (Formally known as Bhatia Coal Corporation) (ii) Bhatia Coal Sales Ltd (iii) BCC Finance Ltd. and (iv) Associated Transport Company.
The Group was formed in 1979. The group is primarily engaged in trading of Imported Coal, Meghalaya Coal and Indigenous Coal with a net-work of 15 branches all over the country and agents in different countries. The group has taken shape of an international organisation. The group had started its business with few lacs rupees of turnover which has already touched to Rs. 226.21 Crores during 1999-2000 and this year we expect a turnover of Rs. 300 Crores. At present We are the largest importer of India in the trading segment. During the Financial Year 1999-2000, the country had imported about 7.5 million tonnes of non coking coal. Out of the 7.5 Million tonnes, our group had imported 0.75 million tonnes, which represents 10% of the total imported coal. Likewise, for trading purpose, 1.5 Million tonnes of coal was imported in the country during the same period of which 0.75 million tonnes were imported by us. Thus, our contribution remained to 50% in the imported coal trading segment of India. The Group has been supplying coal to leading industries of national and international repute manufacturing Cement, Fertilisers, Rayon, Steel, Sponge-Iron, Paper, Synthetics and Solvent Extractions.
The controlling office of the group is situated at Indore and its branches are situated all over India, which are linked with internet arrangement and well equipped with all infrastructure.. |
